Privacy Policy
Last updated 22 September 2026 · HomeLogix LLC, an Arizona limited liability company
1 · Who we are
HomeLogix LLC operates the HomeLogix iPhone app and this website. For questions about anything below, or to exercise any right described in section 8, write to privacy@homelogix.app.
2 · What we collect
Information you give us
- Account. When you sign in with Apple we receive a stable identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email address. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only ever see the relay address, which is the point of it.
- Your home. A property name and, optionally, a street address. Address is required only if you book a technician — you can use the app's diagnosis and maintenance features with a ZIP code alone.
- Your equipment. Item type, brand, model, serial number, room, purchase and warranty dates, and any notes you write. Serial numbers are stored because they determine which service bulletins apply to your machine.
- Photographs. If you attach a photo to an item, it is stored in our hosting provider's object storage, readable only by your account. Identification does not require this. The text recognition that reads a data plate runs entirely on your iPhone; the image is not uploaded for that purpose.
- What's wrong. The symptom you describe and anything you've already tried.
- Booking details. Contact name, phone, email, service address and your preferred appointment windows.
- Website enquiries. If you use the booking form on this site, the fields on that form. That is all it can do — the form has permission to create an enquiry and no permission to read anything back.
Information generated by using the app
- Diagnosis records. Item type, brand, model, the symptom, which guide you were shown, whether it came from our cache, how long it took, and the ZIP code. We use these to find out what actually breaks and which guides are failing people.
- Technician searches. ZIP code, trade, and whether we had anyone covering you. Searches that find nobody are how we decide where to expand.
- Outcomes. Whether a guide fixed your problem. This is the single most useful thing you can tell us and it is always optional.
- Usage analytics. Screens opened, features used, crashes.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect precise location. ZIP code is entered by you or taken from the property you registered. We do not access your photo library beyond the images you deliberately attach, your contacts, your microphone, or your health data. We do not build advertising profiles about you, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.
3 · Why we collect it
To identify your machine and produce a diagnosis; to build and remind you about a maintenance schedule; to pass a service request to a repair company; to take payment for a subscription; to show an optional advertisement before a repair procedure; to find and fix guides that are wrong; and to decide which metropolitan areas to open next.
We do not use your data to decide which technician to show you. Partner companies are ranked by rating, price and distance. The fee a company pays us is held in a part of our database the app is structurally unable to read, so it cannot influence what you see even by accident.
4 · Artificial intelligence, and what reaches it
Repair guides are generated from retrieved manufacturer documentation and repair references using a large language model, then checked against those sources before you see them. What is sent to that model is the equipment description and the symptom — make, model, item type, what it's doing. Your name, address, phone number, email and account identifier are not sent.
Guides are cached by model and symptom and reused for other people with the same machine and the same fault. A cached guide contains no information about the person who first requested it.
5 · Who we share it with
- Repair companies. When you request a technician, the company receives the equipment, the symptom, the likely diagnosis and your ZIP code only. Your name, full address and phone number are released when — and only when — they accept the job. A company that declines never learns where you live.
- Apple. Sign-in and subscription purchases. Apple's privacy policy governs what they do with it.
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers, who store the data on our behalf in the United States and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Our analytics provider, for the usage data in section 2.
- Google AdMob, if you choose to watch an advertisement to unlock a repair procedure. See section 6.
- Law enforcement, where a valid legal process requires it.
We have never sold personal information and have no plans to. If that ever changes, this policy changes first and you will be told before it takes effect.
6 · Advertising and tracking
Repair procedures can be unlocked by watching a short advertisement. Those advertisements are served by Google AdMob.
Before any advertising identifier is used for tracking, iOS asks your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, the app works exactly the same — you still get the same unlock for the same advertisement; it is simply not personalised. We defer that prompt until after the app has done something useful for you, because asking before then is a question you have no basis to answer.
7 · How long we keep it
- Account and equipment data — until you delete your account.
- Service history — for the life of the account. Service records cannot be edited or deleted while the account exists, including by us, because their value is as an unaltered record when you sell the house. Deleting your account deletes them along with everything else.
- Website enquiries — 24 months.
- Diagnosis and search records — retained after account deletion with the account identifier removed, so that "what breaks, and where" survives without being attached to you.
8 · Your rights
You can delete your account from inside the app, under Settings. It removes your profile, properties, equipment, tasks, service history, bookings and saved guides. It is immediate and it is not reversible.
You may also ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it without using the app, by writing to privacy@homelogix.app. We will respond within 45 days.
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to know what we hold, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, to receive it in a portable form, to opt out of sale or sharing — we do neither — and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these. Exercising them is free.
9 · Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is enforced in the database itself rather than in the app: every table carries a row-level security policy, so one account cannot read another's rows even if the app is modified or bypassed. Repair procedures and partner commercial terms are held in tables the app has no read permission on at all. Your login session is stored in the iOS Keychain.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
10 · Children
HomeLogix is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
11 · Where your data lives
On servers in the United States. If you use HomeLogix from outside the US, you are sending your information to the US, where privacy law differs from your own country's.
12 · Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. For a change that materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect rather than relying on you to notice.
